Should my puppy sleep in my bed during crate and potty training?

Congratulations on your new puppy! I love his name! I see no problem with moving his crate to your room when you go to bed as long as he is remaining in the crate when he sleeps to avoid accidents. In my personal opinion, this is not a problem at all, i have never seen any negative effect on a puppy sleeping on it's owner's bed rather than in a crate. as long as you are comfortable with the idea that he is likely to always want to sleep on your bed in the future it's absolutely fine.

Hi there. It's fine to let him sleep in bed with you if you don't mind, and if you're a light enough sleeper to wake up during the night if he needs a potty break (which is likely!). It's normal for young puppies to be frightened or unsure about sleeping alone at first. Until today, he always slept with his littermates in a warm snuggly pile, with his mom nearby. So being by himself in a cold bed is scary, and not natural.

I would crate him at night since you cannot watch him and he is so young. Once you know that you can completely trust him (potty and getting into stuff) then I would say you can let him out of the carte and sleep with you. I would not let her sleep in the bed until she can get herself down if needed. A lot of puppies get injured by being in the bed too young as they try to jump off and break a leg or fall off on accident for being clumsy. It is safest for her to stay in a kennel. As far as potty training goes, once she no longer has accidents in the house and tells you when she needs to go outside both at night and in the day, then she can be trusted to sleep in the bed without having an accident. Most are trained by 4 months of age

If he is sleeping in a crate for potty training, I would take him to his crate for bed. Or if you want him to sleep in a specific place each night, then I would wake him to take him to his bed. But if you don't care where he sleeps at night, I would leave him where he is, as waking him may think it's time to play, and you will have trouble getting to sleep yourself. You can leave him access to his bed so he can go there if he wants to during the night.

A leash would not be recommended overnight or without supervision since it poses a risk of strangulation. It will likely urinate on your bed if you don't get up to take it outside. There is also a risk that you may injure the pup if you roll onto it while you are asleep. Use a large box or gate off a section of the room for him/her to sleep until you get an appropriately sized crate. It only needs to be big enough for the pup to stand, turn around and lie down. A pup shouldn't be crated for extended periods of time anyway.
