Why are my 3-month-old puppy's eyes red and is she peeing too much?

My 3 month old puppy eyes have been red for awhile but she shows no sign of sickness very active just urinate a lot and she doesn't lick her private area as a indication of a UTI can u help

Poor Yoni! Unfortunately without seeing her in person, it is impossible for me to say for sure what is going on. Red eyes can indicate an infection, an ulcer on the eye, or simple allergies. You could try Benadryl twice a day to see if this helps. You can also try some artificial tears drops in both eyes 3-4 times per day. See link below for Benadryl dosing. An increase in urination could be an indication of a UTI. They don't always lick their privates when they have a UTI. She is also a very young dog so it could be behavioral. If these issues aren't improving, I would strongly recommend to have her seen by your vet. Your vet can determine if there is any infection or scratch/ulcer in the eyes and also determine whether she has any true urinary issues or if it is just behavioral. Depending on what they find, they will be able to get her started on the best treatment for her to help her feel better as soon as possible.

I would recommend to take Nina into the vets today if possible. She may have a urinary tract infection, bladder stones or even something very serious like a urethral blockage (which can be fatal). The doctor will palpate her abdomen and get a urine sample to analyze. I'm not sure that the eyes are related to the urine issues, they could just be a symptom that she is sick or could be an issue all of their own. Your dog has two problems: red tinted urine can be a sign of a UTI and you will need to take her to your veterinarian for an exam and a urinalysis. If this is a UTI, she will need to be on antibiotics and pain medicine. She could also be suffering from a uterine infection or bladder stones or just be in heat. Your vet can determine that with an exam! The second problem is intestinal parasites. You can get a wormer over the counter for her or have her wormed when you take her to the vet for the urinary problem.

Why is my dog lethargic with red, watery eyes and drinking a lot?

Red and watery eyes may indicate an issue such as an allergy to something, or even illness such as respiratory issues. You may see additional signs such as fever, lethargy, loss of appetite or even nasal discharge. An increase in drinking water may be related, or may just be an attempt to stay hydrated if your dog is dehydrated from not feeling well (you can check this by gently pinching the loose skin on the back of your dog's neck- if it is quick to go back to normal, your dog is hydrated, if it is slow or sticky in returning back to normal, it is an indication of dehydration). If her symptoms do not resolve within the next day or so, or if she shows additional signs of illness or worsening of already seen symptoms, then scheduling a veterinary checkup is best.

Those are a lot of symptoms, and it would be best to schedule a vet visit for your pup for a complete exam and to narrow down possible causes. Allergies, irritation, urinary infections, getting into something irritating, underlying illness or metabolic disease, etc can all be possibilities, so an exam is needed to try and figure out the problem. Be sure to make note of any other symptoms you are seeing, how long these have been ongoing, etc, as they will help your vet better determine what course of action to take.

Why is my puppy peeing a lot, has diarrhea, runny nose, and cough?

Oh my. Poor puppy. Female puppies are high risk for getting urinary tract infections and his causes frequent urination, foul smelling urine, and accidents in the home. This is likely what is going on with Hazel. She needs to be seen by your local vet for a urinalysis (urine test) and oral antibiotics if confirmed. She also sounds like she has an upper respiratory infection as well. Both issues can respond to the same antibiotic medication so schedule an appt with your local vet soon to get her the proper treatment.
