My puppy licked human vomit containing alcohol. Should I be worried?

Unless a dog oes this every day, it is unlikely that it will affect it other than possib;y giving the dog diarrhea or making it vomit also. As for any rest alcohol, there probably isn't enough to damagee the dog or make it drunk.

Because we do not know what the other animal was vomiting it is always possible that they could become ill (for example if the other animal had ingested a toxin or had a virus). That being said, there isn't really anything you can do right now for your dog other than monitor him closely. If he begins acting lethargic/weak, has vomiting or diarrhea or anorexia, or begins having trembling/muscle tremors or acting drunk/ataxic, then I would recommend seeking veterinary care. Luckily most of the time, however, dogs do not get ill in a situation such as this.

I suspect the two events are not related since t was 6 hours later. Just like humans, there are many many causes of vomiting and some of the causes can be very serious. Any pet vomiting beyond 24 hours should be examined by the veterinarian. I recommend to have Hershey examined if needed. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Winnie. Dogs can feel the affects of alcohol similar to how people do. Being much smaller though, they are more easily affected. That being said, if she is acting fine two hours after the incident, then she will likely be ok. It would not be possible to induce vomiting as she ingested such a small amount. Monitor her closely for the next couple of hours. If she acts intoxicated, stumbles around or vomits, you will want to seek emergency care. I hope this information helps!

Most human viruses cannot infect dogs, so that isn't a concern. Eating dish soap can cause upset stomach (vomiting or diarrhea) but it shouldn't last more than 24 hours. If you notice vomiting or diarrhea that last longer than 24 hours, I would have Snowball examined by a vet.

Your dog licking a very small amount of alcohol should not cause him any serious harm, although depending on the alcohol content it may cause him to become slightly drunk. This can cause wobbliness/ataxia, lethargy, vomiting. If you notice any of these signs, he should be seen by a veterinarian.
