My puppy drank whiskey. Should I worry if she seems fine now?

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Female | spayed | 3 months and 18 days old | 26 lbs

Hello Our our 16 week puppy managed to get one lap of whiskey sitting on the coffee table. its been 2 hours and she seems fine; should we be worried? Regards,

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Winnie. Dogs can feel the affects of alcohol similar to how people do. Being much smaller though, they are more easily affected. That being said, if she is acting fine two hours after the incident, then she will likely be ok. It would not be possible to induce vomiting as she ingested such a small amount. Monitor her closely for the next couple of hours. If she acts intoxicated, stumbles around or vomits, you will want to seek emergency care. I hope this information helps!

    If she threw up right after ingesting alcohol, most of it should be out of her system. If she appears normal and does not act drunk then she likely is ok. If you notice any abnormalities, take her to your vet for an exam and supportive care.
