My dog licked alcohol from an open frozen drink. Will he be okay?

If he ingested a toxic amount, signs may include vomiting with or without blood, retching, abdominal pain, central nervous system (CNS) depression, decreased respiratory rate, and coma. He may appear drunk and the breath often has an alcohol odor. If you see any of these signs or are concerned about Rocket, he should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible for treatment. Hello, thank you for your question. Labs can be so mischievous! Based on your description I think that your dogs should be ok. If dogs ingest a large amount of alcohol they can experience side effects. However I believe that the small amount should not cause sever symptoms. I would recommend monitoring your dogs overnight, if at anytime they became unsteady on their feet or weak I would have them seen by a veterinarian. Hope this helps, good luck!

I would monitor him for any signs of depression, lethargy, seizures inappetance and contact your vet if you see any of these changes. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Unless a dog oes this every day, it is unlikely that it will affect it other than possib;y giving the dog diarrhea or making it vomit also. As for any rest alcohol, there probably isn't enough to damagee the dog or make it drunk.

This may cause some GI upset which may result in vomiting and/or diarrhea. If it is limited to a couple of bouts and she's back to normal in 12 hours or so, you don't need to worry. Just keep an eye on her for the next 12-24 hours, and if she develops vomiting or diarrhea that is severe or continuous, or if she becomes increasingly lethargic, seek emergency care.

As long as the soda did not contain any artificial sweeteners like xylitol then Yogi should probably be okay if he only ingested a small amount. It looks like Fanta is caffeine free so that should not be an issue. Please monitor Yogi for any signs of ill healthy like vomiting, lethargy, and inappetence. If any of these signs occur Yogi should be seen by a veterinarian. If the soda did contain xylitol then Yogi should be seen by a veterinarian right away. He could potentially have problems. Depending on how big he is, it doesn't take much. The first signs of antifreeze poisoning is acting like they are drunk. So watch him closely and if seen or any other abnormal behaviors, I would have your vet take a look at him immediately. Your vet will want to do some diagnostics and will need to give him some fluids and an antidote if he is affected by it. I hope this helps.
