Why does my puppy have a white film or blue spot in her eye?

If you are referring to the blue line around the brown iris color and the white of his eye, it may be a deposit of cholesterol or normal for a puppy Rocky's age. If he isn't squinting or rubbing his eyes then have your Vet take a closer look at his next puppy visit. Cholesterol deposits usually are not harmful. I hope this helps!

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Lola! Lola's eye is very abnormal. I wonder if it is something genetic like early cataracts. Has the eye been abnormal since you got her? I would highly recommend that you see a Veterinary Ophthalmologist. Your Veterinarian should be able to refer you. be sure your Vet checked her intra-ocular pressure, danes are prone to glaucoma. It appears you took her to the Vet and they stained the eye for an ulcer. They can also get rolling in or rolling out of the eye lids. I hope this helps in some way, but if she was my dog I would see a specialist. Good luck!

From the photo, that looks to me more like a pustule (focal little infection) than a congenital defect (something he was born with). I wonder if he may have gotten a mild injury from playing with the other pups. If it hasn't gone away by the time the pup is ready to go home with you, I would make sure the breeder has the pup evaluated by their vet prior to you picking it up, or make sure the contract includes a clause that the breeder is responsible for having the bump evaluated and addressed.

Judging from the photos you provided, it appears as though the area you are concerned about is a flap of tissue from the conjunctiva or third eyelid that was somehow damaged. A problem like this will typically heal on its own but may stick to the cornea permanently as scar tissue. The scar tissue will not cause any harm but will just be noticeable when you look at the eye. If there is any drainage, the eye is swollen or she is squinting, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the eye to ensure there is no trauma to the surface of the eye itself that needs to be treated. Sometimes it can become elevated and visible and normalize on its own. I would recommend that you continue to monitor Paris for now. Sometimes there are changes in pigmentation in that region of the eye which are not considered abnormal especially if not bothering the patient. Good luck and have a good night!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think the right eye looks slightly larger than the left eye because of the pigmentation of the left eye. I do not think there is anything wrong with her eye at least based on these pictures. However, I do think that she is seriously adorable! If she develops any discharge, redness or excessive blinking, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. Otherwise, she is likely going to be ok. Good luck and have a good night!
