Is it normal for my puppy to have one eye larger than the other?

If she is otherwise doing well, and the size of the pupils normalize in the next 24-48 hours, then she is likely to be just fine. Difference in pupils size can be caused by ocular trauma (for example blunt trauma to the eye when Oso hit the bench) or less frequently, by brain concussion / brain trauma. Your vet will be able to distinguish between these two problems and recommend treatment, if required.

Unequal sized in pupils can be due to either an underlying ocular or neurological issue, which should be seen by a veterinarian to determine which the possible cause is and any steps that need to be taken. Hello, and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. He's a cutie! From the photo, that looks to me more like a pustule (focal little infection) than a congenital defect (something he was born with). I wonder if he may have gotten a mild injury from playing with the other pups. If it hasn't gone away by the time the pup is ready to go home with you, I would make sure the breeder has the pup evaluated by their vet prior to you picking it up, or make sure the contract includes a clause that the breeder is responsible for having the bump evaluated and addressed.

I do not really appreciate any problems with the eyes in these photos. His right eye may have more of the sclera (white of the eye) showing at the middle corner area but I would not consider it abnormal. If you are worried I suggest you have him to a local vet for an exam. That way they can use the eye scope (ophthalmoscope) to check the eyes. Eye problems are best diagnosed in person.

Either that, or he has what is called lateral strabismus. This can occur in puppies but should resolve as he gets older. If his eye ever becomes more deviated to the left, or if the other eye starts deviating out, he should be seen by your veterinarian. Otherwise, I would give him a few weeks to see an improvement. This can be a sign of an eye problem - the eye can dilate if a toxin has been ingested, or it's possible that the other pupil is actually constricted secondary to pain or a scratch on the eye. I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian for an exam of the eyes. If Nova seems to be painful or disoriented I"d recommend seeing an emergency veterinarian today.
