My newborn puppy fell. How to check for injuries after a fall?

Poor Naila! I'm glad to hear that she is playing and active after the fall. Fortunately, falling from the couch is a relatively short distance. At this point, since Naila is active with no signs of pain or injury, there is nothing you need to do. However, closely watch her over the next day or so to make sure she continues moving around normally, acting normally, and is eating and drinking appropriately. If you observe any changes, she should see a vet for an exam. I hope that all goes well!

If Ellie landed on her feet and is walking and acting fine, then it would be ok to monitor for now and bring her to the veterinarian if you notice any lameness or any abnormalities like loss of appetite or something like that. She’s adorable! Shivering can be a sign of discomfort. She will probably be sore and bruised from the fall so I’m not overly concerned about that. You may want to wake her to make sure she’s acting normal, and I would give her something to eat to make sure she’s able to eat normally. Luckily puppies are very resilient and usually heal quickly from minor injuries. Please take her in right away for treatment if she’s unable to eat, the bump enlarges, or she doesn’t act normally. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! She should be fine! Especially since she didn't cry, isn't limiting and is acting fine. Sometimes they will feel sore the next day. So I would watch for limping, stiffness or lethargy. But I would be surprised if she shows any symptoms. Good luck!

She's probably totally fine - a fall from a stroller is a pretty low height, and if she popped up and ran off right away, I expect that she's ok. If she starts doing any limping or becomes lethargic, you should go to the vet, but I doubt that will be the case. Best of luck! :)

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I know you feel bad! We see this happen a lot, puppies and kittens are very squirmy! I would say that 98% of the time the puppies are fine. If she is walking well and not limping, is playing and eating I think she falls in to the category! She still may be a bit sore and that is why her tail isn't wagging. I would watch her closely and I bet she will be 100% very soon! I hope this helps and good luck!
