Why does my husky have red dots in her eyes after spay surgery?

This can sometimes happen during surgery, especially when the blood pressure changes or the eye gets irritated. I would not worry too much about it. If the redness has not disappeared by Thursday or Friday or if it is getting worse, , take your dog back to the vet for a recheck.

It could be that Pakkun vomited to hard it burst a blood vessel in his eye. I would keep an eye on him for now and these red spots in his eyes. If they get worse, do not go away, or he starts vomiting again, have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.

Hello. How is Luna feeling overall? If she is playful & active, eating & drinking well, then she may just have a little vaginitis. Keep the area wiped clean with an antiseptic skin wipe & these are usually self-limiting. As for the eye discharge, it is possible that her corneas may have gotten a little dry during her surgery. You can flush the eyes with some artificial tears from your pharmacy, but if any redness develops in the sclera ( white part of the eye ) or any of the tissues around the eye redden or swell ( conjunctivitis ), please see your veterinarian for further diagnostics. He can have an eye infection, but he may also have gotten dust in his eyes. If he recently was around other dogs I recommend bringing him to a veterinarian since it can be pink eye. Otherwise, I recommend rinsing his eyes with saline and if the redness doesn't resolve or gets worse bring him to a veterinarian. He may need eye drops. Sienna’s eye looks very abnormal in your picture and it’s odd that it returned to normal in it’s own. In the picture it looks like she could have anterior uveitis or inflammation in the eye. This could happen secondary to infections, trauma, or cataracts which can be hereditary in Huskies. I doubt the tooth is related. Even though her eye seems normal. Ow it might still be a good idea to have her examined by your vet. They can look closely with good lighting for subtle changes and examine the lens and back of the eye (retina).

The cloudiness may be indicative of inflammation or infection. Have Sophie examined by your veterinarian or a veterinary opthalmologist to diagnose the cause. If she is rubbing or pawing at it, place an e-collar (cone) on her until she is examined.
