Why does my husky have red dots in her eyes after spay surgery?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 11 months and 9 days old | 38 lbs

My husky has tiny red dots bilaterally in her irises. She was just spayed yesterday morning and this is the first time I am noticing it. What could it be??

If Luna has blue eyes this could be normal
Variance. However, if you have not seen these spots before and if the become bigger or increase in number you should take Luna back to the veterinarian who did the spay. You may also want to consider a consultation with a veterinary ophthalmologist. You can find one in your area on www.acvo.org.
