Why is my husky puppy's blue eye cloudy, and what does it mean?

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 30 days old | 22 lbs

What does it mean when the pupil is cloudy in a husky/malamute puppy with blue eyes that is 14 weeks old.

The cloudiness may be indicative of inflammation or infection. Have Sophie examined by your veterinarian or a veterinary opthalmologist to diagnose the cause. If she is rubbing or pawing at it, place an e-collar (cone) on her until she is examined.

If your vet has recommended seeing a specialist, I would take their advice. Illnesses, cataracts, neurologic changes, and other issues can all be potential causes for clouding of the eye, and a specialist, or veterinary ophthalmologist will have the right tools and knowledge to better determine what it is and provide treatment options.

Yes, I would be concerned about the cloudiness of Bluebelle's eye. It could be due to cataract, glaucoma, or an eye infection. Any problem with the eye should be considered an emergency, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Bluebelle into a vet right away to have her eye examined. Once the vet diagnoses the cause of the cloudiness, they can discuss treatment with you.

Sienna’s eye looks very abnormal in your picture and it’s odd that it returned to normal in it’s own. In the picture it looks like she could have anterior uveitis or inflammation in the eye. This could happen secondary to infections, trauma, or cataracts which can be hereditary in Huskies. I doubt the tooth is related. Even though her eye seems normal. Ow it might still be a good idea to have her examined by your vet. They can look closely with good lighting for subtle changes and examine the lens and back of the eye (retina).

Any haze over the cornea or in the eye is a great concern, as it indicates there has been some trauma or there is some ongoing disease happening in the eye. It is very important that you have Shiloh seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible, not only to prevent further & permanent damage to the eye, but to make sure he is not in pain. My puppy has a cloudy eye. What's causing it and how can I help?

It looks like Pebbles most likely has an ulcer on her cornea. Most of the times these are caused by trauma (being scratched by another animal, bumping the into something, plant material, etc.). These can be serious and get worse very quickly. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian to have it checked and start treatment right away.

My Siberian husky has eye discharge. When should I worry about it?

A small amount of clear or whitish discharge is normal and fine. If you see green or yellow discharge, or if the eye itself is red or squinting, your pup needs to be examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
