My husky's eye has gooey discharge & a red dot. Is it dangerous?

He can have an eye infection, but he may also have gotten dust in his eyes. If he recently was around other dogs I recommend bringing him to a veterinarian since it can be pink eye. Otherwise, I recommend rinsing his eyes with saline and if the redness doesn't resolve or gets worse bring him to a veterinarian. He may need eye drops. A small amount of clear or whitish discharge is normal and fine. If you see green or yellow discharge, or if the eye itself is red or squinting, your pup needs to be examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

All I can see is that the eye is red and he is squinting it a little. It could be due to an injury to the cornea or some type of trauma. I highly recommend you have him to your vet for an exam. The eye needs to be checked with an ophthalmoscope and have a stain test - obviously we can only tell so much from a photo. I don't think it is an emergency but try to get him examined as soon as you can get an appointment. In the meantime you can use this eye gel to see if it will help: ( )

I think you are talking about Taya’s right eye correct? That looks like it’s her 3rd eyelid which dogs and cats have but humans don’t. Many times the protruding eye lid can indicate a change in the innervation to the eye, a change in the eye pressure or sometimes a tumor in the area. I would recommend to make an appointment with the veterinarian for an exam. Make sure Kaya does not scratch or rub at the eye lid as this may cause damage and she has an important tear gland within the structure.
