My dog has clear nose discharge and snores terribly. Is it a cold?

This warrants a veterinary evaluation for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to evaluate her and if this seems likely, start her on antibiotics. I do not recommend that you take her to an agility class tomorrow as she needs to rest and also keep in mind that this could be infectious and contagious putting other dogs at risk. Best of luck!

Handsome boy! He may have allergies from spring pollen or a mild cold. You can give Benadryl to reduce the nasal discharge and itching. There is a section on this website with information and dosages of common over the counter medications that are safe for dogs. if he stops eating, the discharge gets green or he's very lethargic then I would recommend a veterinary exam. Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Not sure exactly what is going on from your description. I'm assuming that there is some clear discharge coming from the nose. This could be many things including irritation from something in the air, allergens, the beginning of an upper respiratory infection, or even a foreign body in the nasal passage ways. I would advise that if it continues or starts to thicken or turn green/yellow, or other signs develop like coughing, etc you need to see your veterinarian and let them evaluate Chewie. They can do a physical exam and advise some tests if needed to diagnose what is going on depending on if it's just one nostril or both. Blood work, x-rays, or other tests may be advised. Once a diagnosis is made treatment can be recommended. Good luck with Chewie.

Pets can get nasal discharge for many reasons and the most common are infections or allergies. With her older age and because she is a pug (short muzzled) if she is continuing to have discharge beyond 5 days or if she is getting worse at any point, I recommend to have her examined. Sometimes omega 3 fatty acids can help and feeding her a high quality diet can help to keep her immune system strong. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
