My dog ate pre-seed lubricant. Is it toxic? When should I see a vet?

The ingredients in that are mild and not toxic. However, the material itself can cause an upset stomach. If he is in pain and not eating and drinking or having vomiting or diarrhea, I would take him in. If he is eating, then I would try boiled chicken and rice to help his stomach.

Hello, sorry to hear about Marshall. The biggest ingredient of concern is the grape seed oil. Grapes are known toxins to dogs, causing kidney disease. I am unsure if the grape seed oil could cause the same toxicity as the whole grape, since the exact mechanism by which grapes cause kidney disease is not fully understood. Therefore, Marshall should have his kidney values monitored by your veterinarian for the next 72 hours as a precautionary step. It’s likely that the oils could have caused him some nausea, and if he ingested a large amount of this then he could have a bit of an upset stomach. Alternatively, he could have been drooling for some other benign reason and perhaps there is nothing wrong with him. Monitor for any vomiting, decreased appetite, lethargy, or diarrhea and have him seen by a veterinarian if you note any. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Hello, there is no report or warning for toxicity of these treats that I could find. Looking at the ingredients, they also are not common ingredients associated with toxicity. You can call the ASPCA animal poison control line and inquire further information about these treats and see if they are indeed toxic or not. Additionally, you may visit your local emergency veterinarian to induce vomiting if your ASPCA reports these treats to be toxic at high doses. The number is (888) 426-4435. Hello. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I do not see any ingredients in that product that should be toxic to Uzi. Personally, I would not be concerned. The worse thing that may happen is that he gets some diarrhea. As always though, if you are worried about him you should take him to your vet for an exam, especially if he starts to act like he isn't feeling well. Hello. Without knowing what the ingredients are it is difficult to say, but if you managed to vacuum things up pretty quickly, I would not worry. Most plant fertilizers are not very toxic. Now, if your pet had managed to eat 1/2 a bag, there would be some concern, but if a few were eaten by accident or out of curiosity, Charlie will be just fine.
