My dog ate a mascara tube. Is it toxic? What signs should I watch for?

Hello. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I do not see any ingredients in that product that should be toxic to Uzi. Personally, I would not be concerned. The worse thing that may happen is that he gets some diarrhea. As always though, if you are worried about him you should take him to your vet for an exam, especially if he starts to act like he isn't feeling well. If your dog did not eat the actual tube and only the content, there should be no problem as non of these ingredients is toxic. However, there is a possibility that Max may get diarrhea. If that happens, you can do the following: Take your dog off food for about 12 hrs, then feed bland food such as boiled rice with boiled white chicken meat in small quantities over several feeds a day. Do this for a day, then start replacing small quantities of rice with his normal food over the next two days until he is at the normal quantity of his regular food. If the diarrhea does not go away by the end of the third day, or your dog is lethargic and dehydrated,you will need to take your dog to a veterinarian for an exam.

If the fake eyelash was small and soft it will likely easily pass and not cause any issue for Zeus. It would be unlikely that the eyelash would contain any toxins although not impossible so watch Zeus for any signs of illness. If he ate it last night and is not showing any adverse effects by now, then he will likely be fine. If he ingested the tube, monitor for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian.
