My 3-month kitten fell from second floor and bled. Is he okay?

Poor little Coffee! It sounds like he suffered some trauma from this fall, and if he fell two floors, having him seen by a vet now would be fast. He is a young kitten, and they can be very fragile, and it's always recommended to have any kitten or cat checked out after a trauma to make sure there are no internal injuries. In my opinion, it would best to take him into a vet for a health check just to be safe. I hope this helps!

Hi. I'm sorry to hear about your kitten. Just watch her for any signs of continued nose bleed, decrease in appetite, lethargy, facial swelling, change in mentation, wobbly when walking. If she acts normal, is eating, drinking, interacting the same without any problems most likely she is going to be fine. Kittens are very resilient but it is always good to check when these sorts of accidents happen. Best of luck!

It is hard for me to tell you what is going on without examining your kitten. There is the possibility for internal trauma from a fall that high in a very young kitten. I would recommend that you keep a close eye on her. I would be more concerned if the cough continues or worsens for 72 hours, or if she is not eating or panting more than normal. Keep her as still and calm as possible so that her body can heal. Kittens can heal very quickly if you can manage to let them do it!

I would recommend Brownie see a veterinarian today to be sure she hasn't sustained any injuries that are not directly obvious, such as a head injury, just to be on the safe side. Sometimes injuries may not be noticed at first after a traumatic event such as a fall from a window, even if they land on their feet, so I would recommend Brownie get looked at by a veterinarian today if possible. Take your kitten to a veterinarian as soon as posdible in the event of trauma like this. Many things can happen including broken bones, damage to the lungs, lacerated organs, etc. Many times they fall on their faces and have facial or jaw fractures. A full exam will be performed and xrays will likely be recommended. Hopefully your kitten is okay and some pain medication can be prescribed. I would still recommend taking your kitten into the veterinarian to have an x-ray performed. She may have fractured the leg and just have a small hairline fracture without bone displacement. She would still need a splint or cast placed to help the bone heal. She may also benefit from some pain medication as well. As for the blood in her stool, I would recommend having a fecal examination performed by your veterinarian. It is very common for young kittens like this to have intestinal parasites that need to be treated with specific dewormers. There are other causes of blood in the stool as well such as dietary indiscretion, foreign bodies, viruses, or stress. What a cute cat! If he is eating, drinking and using the restroom I would not be concerned. Some cats will fall far and land on their feet. At this point I would just monitor him for any sign of pain or illness. If he acts painful I would take him to a vet.
