My mare was bred months ago. Could she still be pregnant?

Hello, again. As I said earlier, it depends when, or how long ago she was with the colt. Size may matter, but sometimes where there is a will, there is a way. It is possible that your mare may be trying to colic, so the best thing to do is get a vet out to check. Horses are pregnant about 330 days, & it is usually only in the last few months that you can see the foal kicking or moving inside. I would have an equine vet come out to examine Cleiopatra. The vet can do a rectal exam and ultrasound to confirm if she is pregnant or not. If she is pregnant, I would say she would be due soon if she was mated in late January/early February as a horse's gestation lasts 335-360 days. Along with c confirming the pregnancy, the vet can give you an estimate of how far along she is in the pregnancy. While there, the vet can treat her rain scald as well. The gestation period for dogs is around 60 days long, so if she were mated on March 6th, she may indeed be pregnant and is getting close to giving birth to her pups. To be sure, you can have Honeii seen by her veterinarian for an exam and x-ray or ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. I hope this helps!

If she mated 80 days ago then it is unlikely she is pregnant from that mating as the average gestation is about 65 days. You could have a vet examine her and do an ultrasound or x-rays to see if she is pregnant.

It's never recommended for a horse to have twins, as it is dangerous for the mare, especially during delivery. Typically when a horse is suspected to be pregnant, a rectal ultrasound is done, and if twins are detected, one of the embryos is aborted for the safety of the mare. If you are concerned that Sabrina may have twins, this is a medical emergency, and you need to call a vet immediately.

Even if we knew the exact day she mated there is a window of when she can deliver. Just like people, we can estimate a date but the baby comes when it is ready. Normal pregnancy length is 60-63 days. Milk can appear in the mammary glands 24 hrs to 7 days before delivery. I am sorry we can not be more exact. If you know the date she mated then provide us with that date and we can give you a range of when she may be due. I hope this helps and good luck!

The gestation.period is typically 62 to 65 days but that is just an average. Some dogs will have them sooner and some will have them later. 70 days however seems a bit long. If she conceived on the 10th day of breeding then today would only be day 60. I would not be overly worried at this time.
