Hello, again. As I said earlier, it depends when, or how long ago she was with the colt. Size may matter, but sometimes where there is a will, there is a way. It is possible that your mare may be trying to colic, so the best thing to do is get a vet out to check. Horses are pregnant about 330 days, & it is usually only in the last few months that you can see the foal kicking or moving inside. A dog's pregnancy lasts 58-68 days. If Cleo was pregnant, then she would be very close to the end of her pregnancy assuming on the 8th day of mating she become pregnant. It could also be that she is suffering from a false pregnancy. The only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. By day 28 you can see puppies on ultrasound and by day 50 you can see them on X-ray. I have personally never seen a dog miscarry from stress. If she doesn't give birth by 70 days from when you got your dog neutered you need to bring her to the Vet to confirm pregnancy or whether she is experiencing a false pregnancy. If Sophie is sweating and trying to lay down or appears in distress at all I would recomend calling an equine vet now. Sweating, protruding veins can be signs of pain or discomfort and if she is constantly trying to lay down that is not typical behavior. She may be colicky or possibly miscarrying the foal. Try keeping her on her feet and walking as you get in touch with a vet. Do not let her down to roll. If she is kicking or biting at her flank those are further signs that she has abdominal pain.
