How long is a cat pregnant? When can I expect her kittens?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!

With out knowing when Chippy was bred it is impossible to give you her exact due date. Even if we knew the exact day she mated there is a window of when she can deliver. Just like people, we can estimate a date but the baby comes when it is ready. Normal pregnancy length is 60-63 days. Milk can appear in the mammary glands 24 hrs to 7 days before delivery. I am sorry we can not be more exact. If you know the date she mated then provide us with that date and we can give you a range of when she may be due.

Hello. The average gestation is 63 days, but if all is OK in that Silvy is eating & acting fairly normal, then I would give her a few more days. It is possible that your dates may be off by a few days, or she bred on additional days. She does look quite full! She should be pregnant for 64 days and will start making milk after the kittens come. The only way to know for sure how many kittens are in there would be an x-ray at the vet. Good luck with the the babies!!

Is my cat pregnant or in heat? Swollen nipples, licking, crying.

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Her belly and mammary glands do not look distended enough to be pregnant unless she is early pregnant (2-4 weeks). I think she might be in heat. I would try to keep her inside as it doesn't take cats very long to get the deed done! Cats are pregnant for 60 days, so if her belly and mammary glands continue to get larger then she is likely pregnant and you'd have kittens 4-6 weeks from now. Good luck!

My cat is 68 days pregnant, but her belly isn't big. What's wrong?

Hello. It is very difficult to say if she is or is not pregnant from these pictures, because if she is only carrying 1 or 2 kittens, then she would not be as big as one carrying 4-6 kittens. And if she is truly 68 days into a pregnancy, she is overdue. If she does have kittens you should be able to rub on her abdomen & feel some substantial "bumps" at this point in time. My cat's nipples are pink and long. Is my year-old cat pregnant?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If Khloe has been in heat and goes outdoors unobserved or lives with an intact male cat then she could be pregnant. I can’t tell by the picture because the nipples look relatively normal to me. Hormones can make them pinker and longer. Normal pregnancy lengths in cats is 60-63 days. I hope this helps!

My pregnant cat has signs, when will she deliver her kittens?

Cats are pregnant for about 60 days. You will start to. It’s e her mammary glands fill with milk around the 7th week of pregnancy. Their temperature will drop when it gets within 48 hours of labor and their appetite can decrease then. It is not uncommon to see a clear mucous discharge in the urine around a week before labor. Without knowing when she was in heat and bred these signs are the best guide to let you know about delivery.
