Will a rabies vaccine hurt my bunny or make my rabbit seriously ill?

Furthermore, there has not been a case of transmission from one these animals to humans. This decreases the need to vaccinate these animals. As far as the rabies vaccine, it is a killed virus. However, if your rabbit has any exposure to wildlife by going outside into your yard, has a wound you cant explain, or has been showing behavior changes or aggression, the. Yes, your bunny should be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and Rabbit Hemorrhagic disease. Best call your veterinarian to find out if he carries the vaccine and if not, whether he can order it. Usually veterinarians who treat bunnies regularly carry the vaccines.

But Austrailia might be different. I do believe there is a myxomatosis vaccine there and is recommended. you should consult a local veterinarian. Good luck.

Hello. The incidence of adverse effects after vaccination are generally pretty low but can happen. The most common reaction is hair loss & pain at the vaccine site, but lethargy & gastrointestinal stasis have been reported.
