Is it safe for my older dog to play with my new 2-month-old puppy?

As long as Dallas is healthy, it should be fine for Phoenix and Dallas to interact with supervision. Try to avoid or limit any time the puppy spends outside, and do not go to dog parks or pet stores with him until he has received several sets of vaccines. Phoenix is a cutie! Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think that socialization is important at this age. There is a fine line between preventing disease and socialization. It is fine for Coco to play with healthy fully vaccinated adult dogs and puppies. No dog parks. She can be walked on side walks. I would always pick up the stool if you think that Coco may want to start eating stool. Teach her to "leave it" early on. Leash walk until you are sure she is trained and isn't going to eat her stool. Stool eating is behavioral and it is hard to go back and teach them not too. Much easier to never allow them to start. Yes - as long as his most recent booster was given at four months of age or older, he should be considered fully vaccinated. He will need a rabies vaccine from your veterinarian when you get a chance to have this done, but in the meantime it should be fine for him to be around other dogs. Congrats on your new puppy! :)

Hi there. As long as your puppy is current on her puppy vaccine series and the adult dog is healthy and vaccinated, there's no reason that they can't spend some time together. Just make sure that the older dog likes puppies and enjoys the interaction too!

Yes, they can play together but please be sure that Dallas has had all of his vaccines (all three sets of his puppy shots) and that Preston has been started on his vaccines. Also, I would only let them play supervised at first so you can make sure the dynamic between them is not aggressive. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
