Can my unvaccinated puppy play with my fully vaccinated dog?

Yes, as long as the other dog is fully vaccinated this should not be a problem. If the other dog is around dog parks or goes to boarding facilities, then I would try and distance the two dogs while they are in the same household. I think it is fine that she plays with a healthy vaccinated dog and to be walked on side walks. No dog parks or boarding until 2 weeks past her final vaccinations. Have a great day!

Yes - as long as his most recent booster was given at four months of age or older, he should be considered fully vaccinated. He will need a rabies vaccine from your veterinarian when you get a chance to have this done, but in the meantime it should be fine for him to be around other dogs. Congrats on your new puppy! :)

No, you do not need to separate them. It is actually good if they are together as it helps socialisation. Just do not take your older dog to a dog park or let him meet other dogs while your puppy has not had the full course of vaccinations.

Your younger dog will learn their boundaries and what behaviors are acceptable and not. Before bringing your young puppy out to play in public with any other dogs, be sure that he/she is fully vaccinated (finished with his/her puppy vaccine series). This will give them the best chance at fighting off any potential infections in the environment. I hope this is helpful!

It is possible, although rare, for people to bring infectious agents into a home on shoes, clothes etc which a pup is not fully protected against until after the course has been completed and onset of immunity is generally a week or so after full vaccination. Similar to newborn children, general precautions of clean clothes and shoe, washing hands and avoiding contact with any owners of pets who have recently been unwell would be sensible. Do not take puppy to public areas or parks or mix with any dogs which are not fully vaccinated with up to date boosters.
