My puppy has one vaccine. Is it safe for her to meet older dogs?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 8 days old | 4 lbs

Hello! I got a beagle puppy 2 weeks ago. She is 11 weeks old now and she had only her first vaccine. I will sit a dog which is 7 years old and fully vaccinated but I don't know if it is safe for my puppy. do you think that would be safe for my puppy to interact with older dogs? thanks!

Hi there. As long as your puppy is current on her puppy vaccine series and the adult dog is healthy and vaccinated, there's no reason that they can't spend some time together. Just make sure that the older dog likes puppies and enjoys the interaction too!
