Is my puppy's constant sleeping when left alone normal behavior?

I would expect a 7 month old pup to be able to rest in a crate for a full 6-8 hours without problems. I'm glad she's resting. Could there be something that happens to get her worked up at the three hour mark? Like the mail truck coming at roughly the same time every day? The timed release toy machine can help no matter what the problem is (as long as she doesn't try to destroy it, which would be both frustrating and very expensive).

I think you should be very pleased that lola is so well house trained. As long as she goes to the toilets and it seems normal I wouldn't worry about it. As for not eating she may be getting enough at breakfast and dinner. Potentially she could be playing up because you are out at work.

Puppies need a lot of sleep just like human babies do and will change as Sugar gets older. As long as Sugar is normal otherwise (is eating and drinking normally, has normal stool and urine, etc), I wouldn't worry too much. I hope this helps!

Yes, it is normal for puppies this age to sleep a lot - they play hard and nap hard, just like babies :) As long as he is playful and active when he's awake, and he's eating and drinking normally with no other problems, I wouldn't be concerned.

In general this is ok. As long as she seems to be enjoying the activity. She will catch up on sleep when she gets home. If something were to change in her health (like a chronic illness), then this behavior would be detrimental but for a healthy young dog, it's generally ok. In terms of the appetite, this is sometimes not uncommon in puppies when they are in their new environment. I recommend that you continue to monitor him for now, especially if you just got him. If these symptoms of not eating well and sleeping a large portion of the day do not improve, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. At 5 weeks of age it is normal for Dexter to sleep most of the day and only be active 2-3 hours of the day. Most puppies aren’t weaned from their mom’s until 8 weeks of age. First vaccines aren’t given until 6-8 weeks of age so you are right in scheduling your vet appointment for next week unless he starts to have diarrhea before then. Definitely feed him 3 times a day or leave dry food out for him all day to prevent hypoglycemia /low blood sugar which is common in puppies and can result in severe weakness and even seizures.
