My 9 week old puppy sleeps a lot during the day. Even when I try to engage her in play and exercise, she doesn't seem too interested, and would rather go back inside to nap. Then after the sun goes down she is full of energy and takes a while to settle down. I know they need a lot of sleep, but I'm worried she's flipping her internal clock.

Hello!
At her young age, this behavior sounds perfectly normal. Just like babies, puppies will be very playful and sleepy in spurts, on a random schedule. She will probably be 5-6 months old before she really gets on a schedule of sleeping throughout the night. Crate training her at this age may help with teaching her to be quiet and restful throughout the night.
I hope this is helpful! Puppies are exhausting, but totally worth it! :)
