Why does my 6-month-old spayed puppy rest so much? Is it normal?

Congrats on your new puppy! Yes, puppies can sleep a lot when they are little, and as she was recently spayed, she will be recovering from that as well. If Honey did have parvo, you'd see other signs such as vomiting, bloody diarrhea, and anorexia. If you aren't seeing those signs, then I would not be worried about parvo. I hope this helps!

It also takes some time for them to get used to their new environment. I would give him more time for him to come along especially since he is otherwise doing so well. If at any point he develops symptoms of illness such as vomiting, diarrhea or inappetence, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Puppies need a lot of sleep just like human babies do and will change as Sugar gets older. As long as Sugar is normal otherwise (is eating and drinking normally, has normal stool and urine, etc), I wouldn't worry too much. I hope this helps!

In terms of the appetite, this is sometimes not uncommon in puppies when they are in their new environment. I recommend that you continue to monitor him for now, especially if you just got him. If these symptoms of not eating well and sleeping a large portion of the day do not improve, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. I would expect a 7 month old pup to be able to rest in a crate for a full 6-8 hours without problems. I'm glad she's resting. Could there be something that happens to get her worked up at the three hour mark? Like the mail truck coming at roughly the same time every day? The timed release toy machine can help no matter what the problem is (as long as she doesn't try to destroy it, which would be both frustrating and very expensive).

Hello. Puppies do sleep a lot. As long as Sky has periods of activity & is eating well, at least 3 times a day, & has regular eliminations, no diarrhea, then he is not probably overtly ill. But if he is suddenly acting sleepy when he was a more active pup, then this is not normal & he probably needs to be evaluated by your veterinarian.
