My puppy's leg shakes when he sits down. Is it a serious problem?

Why does my puppy's leg shake sometimes when he sits down? Could this be a problem or is it related to a serious issue?

Most likely it is not related to anything and is only incidental. However, this can only be confirmed after a physical exam by your veterinarian. If it persists or worsens, I would suggest a check up to assess if there is any sign of elbow dysplasia, panosteitis or other condition/injury, as pain can cause shaking in dogs.

Shaking or trembling can be a sign of pain in dogs. Large breed dogs are prone to elbow disorders and bone disorders (such as panosteitis), which could potentially causing this shaking. I recommend taking Bruno into your vet for an exam to see if he does potentially have an elbow or bone disorder causing the shaking.

This may not be related to anything, and can be incidental. The shaking could also be a sign of pain. Large breed dogs are prone to elbow disorders and bone disorders (like panosteitis), which could potentially causing the shaking. Without seeing Lucy in person, I can't say for certain, but as long as she isn't limping or showing other signs of pain, I wouldn't be too worried about it. I would suggest a check up at 12 months of age to assess if there is any sign of dysplasia on elbows. Do take her into the vet though if she starts limping. I hope this helps!

If you have done a thorough check of his leg and are finding nothing wrong with Chief and he is walking on the leg just fine, I would monitor this for now. I have seen this in quite a few puppies and when I examined the puppy further, I found nothing wrong and it resolved on its own. If Chief begins to show signs of pain / discomfort, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. It looks like Chief is about 12 weeks of age, so at this age he still needs to go through the remainder of his puppy vaccinations. Why are my dog's back legs shaking when he sits or lies down?

Shaking is usually a sign of pain, according to the symptoms I can't be sure where the pain is coming from, possibly from his hips but it could be from somewhere else. I strongly recommend that you take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated.

Why are my 2-month-old puppy's front paws shaking when he sits?

Shaking is a general sign and can be seen with several things that go from just being cold or nervous to being an indication of pain or discomfort. If he is otherwise fine, then it would be ok to monitor him for now. However, if at any point he appears to be in discomfort or stops eating or showing any other concerning symptoms, it may be best to have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. My senior dog's leg shakes when resting. Should I take him to the vet?

Hi! Thanks for entrusting us with Bentley's care today! Lameness and/or possible leg pain and shaking can be a sign of a few things that range from a muscle sprain to even a fracture. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. Treatment will be dependent on findings though at the very least pain control medications can be prescribed. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

That is very unlikely as neurological signs are late signs in distemper infection and come after respiratory ones (such as discharge from eyes and nose and sneezing and so on). My dog's back leg shakes when standing, no pain. What's the cause?

Shaking or quivering of a leg can be caused by so many things, including anxiety, pain, neurologic disease, muscular disease, bone disease, etc. I would recommend that Abbie be checked out by a vet. After thorough orthopedic and neurologic exams, the vet may get a better idea of what could be causing the issues. X-rays may be helpful for evaluated the bones and joints of the affected limb. Once your vet has a better idea of what could be the cause, then a medication trial can be used to see if it help with the shaking leg.

Why do my dog's front legs shake when sitting but he walks normally?

It could be Simba is having a bit of pain when he's sitting Without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain. He does not need vitamins, his puppy food will provide all the vitamins he needs. I'd have him seen by a vet to have this shaking diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.
