My puppy's leg shakes when sitting. Is it distemper without other signs?

Most likely it is not related to anything and is only incidental. However, this can only be confirmed after a physical exam by your veterinarian. If it persists or worsens, I would suggest a check up to assess if there is any sign of [elbow dysplasia](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/elbow-dysplasia/), [panosteitis](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/panosteitis/) or other condition/injury, as pain can cause shaking in dogs.

That is unlikely to be related to distemper but could be completely normal (due to fatigue or involuntary movements before sleeping). From the picture I noticed he may have skin disease (there multifocal bald red patches). This is probably due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment (advocate or advantage), then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). If you have done a thorough check of his leg and are finding nothing wrong with Chief and he is walking on the leg just fine, I would monitor this for now. I have seen this in quite a few puppies and when I examined the puppy further, I found nothing wrong and it resolved on its own. If Chief begins to show signs of pain / discomfort, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. It looks like Chief is about 12 weeks of age, so at this age he still needs to go through the remainder of his puppy vaccinations. If she is unvaccinated for distemper, I would potentially consider this as a possibility but in older animals, distemper is not commonly seen. I am so sorry to hear that her disease has progressed. Unfortunately if distemper starts to cause neurological symptoms then it is unlikely that she will recover. Typically seizure activity will follow in the near future. I am so sorry to relay this poor prognosis. However, every patient is different and there is always a chance of improvement. Hi there and thank you for posting your question! She may just have an upper respiratory infection starting. Puppies are quite prone to getting sick with a developing immune system. If you are concerned about the sneezing, I would have your veterinarian examine her to give you peace of mind. With distemper, sneezing can certainly occur. Puppies with distemper also go downhill fast and begin developing multiple other symptoms such as lethargy, inappetance, seizures / neurological symptoms, fever, etc. If these symptoms begin showing, I would certainly be worried about a viral infection like distemper. Muscles twitches can be caused by weakness or neurological problems affecting long nerves which are supplying legs and peripheral muscles in general. Unfortunately without having a look at her it is really difficult to be able to provide a more specific advice. Given her young age an infective or congenital cause is possible and I would strongly recommend a check up to be able to understand and investigate this sign.
