My 8-week-old puppy has an eye growth. Is it a stye or a wart?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Zero. It is possible that he has as infection along his eyelid such as a stye like you mentioned. He will likely need to see his veterinarian as he will need antibiotics if this is the case. In the meantime, you can try applying warm compresses to the eyelid. Use a warm (not hot) washcloth and hold it to the eyelid for several minutes two to three times per day. Make sure the temperature of the washcloth would be comfortable on your own skin. Hi, and thanks for your question. That is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. At this stage it is not possible to rule out that a small mass is developing (stye is possible, but a small benign tumor should be considered as well). A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well. Take a warm compress, and apply it to the area for five minutes at a time a couple of times a day to see if that helps it drain. If it gets bigger, starts to bother her, doesn't go down in a day or two, or appears infected, have her seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

I'd try applying a warm compress to it five minutes a day a couple times a day to see if that helps open it up and drain. It may just be a stye or even an insect bite. As long as it isn't bothering him, I wouldn't be worried about it and just recommend monitoring it. A lot of times these go away on their own. However, if it is bothering him I would recommend placing an e-collar on him to prevent him from rubbing his face for now, then get him seen by your vet for medications to help it resolve. This lump on Shadow could be a meibomian gland adenoma or a stye. Both are benign growths, and not something about which to be too concerned. You can try holding a wash cloth that has been moistened in warm water again the lump to see if that help encourages drainage of the lump. Do this a couple of times a day for five minutes at a time. If this doesn't help, then I would have Shadow seen by a vet. If it is a meibomian gland adenoma, it can ulcerate, so it may need to be removed surgically to prevent irritation to the cornea of the eye.
