What is this pink bump on my puppy's eyelid? Should I be concerned?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would continue to monitor it for now as this may just be an area of infection or inflammation. It could even be a growth though thankfully most of the eyelid growths in dogs are benign. I would continue to monitor it for now. If it goes away then great. However, if it does not go away and actually continues to grow, I recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. It may be a cyst or local infection/irritation. Monitor for rapid change or growth, discharge or bleeding as well as discomfort. Ideally, he can be examined by your veterinarian to diagnose the underlying cause and provide the appropriate treatment. If he is pawing or rubbing at it, place an e-collar (cone) on him until he sees the vet.

Take a warm compress, and apply it to the area for five minutes at a time a couple of times a day to see if that helps it drain. If it gets bigger, starts to bother her, doesn't go down in a day or two, or appears infected, have her seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

Hi, and thanks for your question. That is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. At this stage it is not possible to rule out that a small mass is developing (stye is possible, but a small benign tumor should be considered as well). A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well. This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. I would suggest to have it checked as it can rub against cornea and create discomfort and possibly corneal damage in the long run. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, inflammation of the eyelid glands, benign or more sinister type of tumors. If just inflammatory, a medical treatment can be attempted to reduce its size. It is possible that Ganja has something like an infection or perhaps a sty on the eyelid. It sounds like the lesion is getting worse. Sometimes the body will heal this on its own, if it ruptures or you notice continuous oozing, pain or excess of redness, have her examined by the veterinarian. If it does not go away completely within a few days, also have her examined by the veterinarian. Protect the area from rubbing or scratching with an Elizabethan collar. You can gently apply a warm, not hot, compress to the area twice a day. This may help. It’s always best to play it safe so use your best judgment. Since your puppy is due for her rabies shot soon and she does not seem to have any problems arising from this bump, I think you can wait to show this to your vet until you go in for the rabies vaccination. However, if your puppy starts squinting, having a discharge from the eye, or generally appears bothered by this you should take her in to your vet before the vaccination date to have her eye and eye lid examined.
