Will my 5-month-old dark puppy's light blue eyes change color?

Some Huskies do indeed have very dark eyes, so it's possible that Esco's eyes may stay this color. If they do end up changing, this will usually happen by 12-16 weeks of age. It's hard to say what color they might change to - this is unpredictable, just like it is in people :) In my experience, golden-yellow or blue eyes are most common in Huskies.

Many puppies have lighter colored eyes that will change as they age. It's likely his eyes will change as well. Blue eyes can occur through random mutations so there is a possibility the eyes will remain blue but that would be uncommon. I hope this helps.

As they get older, they usually do turn more brown. So I would assume his eye color may not stay that light. I think that your dog is likely a husky mix. We see mixed color irises in dogs all of the time and as far as I know, it doesn't raise any questions in my mind regarding those pets and there health or behavior. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I can see that the iris is partially blue at the bottom. I can't tell if that means she has a partially blue and brown eye (some breeds can have this normally) or there is something wrong with the eye. Since she is 8 weeks old and likely heading to the Vet soon for vaccines have the confirm that the blue color is a normal variation of her iris color. The white structure in the corner of her eye is normal, it is the 3rd eyelid membrane. I hope this helps and I wish you and Athena the best!

Eye color in puppies this young can be very variable, sometimes appearing completely black when first opening. The eye color is likely to change as they grow older and into their own. As long as you do not see any discharge or cloudiness associated with the eyes, the color should not be something to be concerned with. Just make sure all the other puppy's eyes are opening relatively soon and look relatively normal. Good luck with your pups!

If you are referring to the blue line around the brown iris color and the white of his eye, it may be a deposit of cholesterol or normal for a puppy Rocky's age. If he isn't squinting or rubbing his eyes then have your Vet take a closer look at his next puppy visit. Cholesterol deposits usually are not harmful. I hope this helps!
