Are my Husky puppy's dark green/black eyes normal? Will they change?

It takes about 10- 12 weeks for a puppy's eye color to become permanent but it can take as long as 16 weeks. Since Hades is almost 20 weeks of age I would say his current eye color is going to be his permanent color. There are many dogs with dark coat colors that have light eyes. This is not uncommon. Eye color in puppies this young can be very variable, sometimes appearing completely black when first opening. The eye color is likely to change as they grow older and into their own. As long as you do not see any discharge or cloudiness associated with the eyes, the color should not be something to be concerned with. Just make sure all the other puppy's eyes are opening relatively soon and look relatively normal. Good luck with your pups!

Many puppies have lighter colored eyes that will change as they age. It's likely his eyes will change as well. Blue eyes can occur through random mutations so there is a possibility the eyes will remain blue but that would be uncommon. I hope this helps.

Sienna’s eye looks very abnormal in your picture and it’s odd that it returned to normal in it’s own. In the picture it looks like she could have anterior uveitis or inflammation in the eye. This could happen secondary to infections, trauma, or cataracts which can be hereditary in Huskies. I doubt the tooth is related. Even though her eye seems normal. Ow it might still be a good idea to have her examined by your vet. They can look closely with good lighting for subtle changes and examine the lens and back of the eye (retina).

We see mixed color irises in dogs all of the time and as far as I know, it doesn't raise any questions in my mind regarding those pets and there health or behavior. If she is otherwise doing well, and the size of the pupils normalize in the next 24-48 hours, then she is likely to be just fine. If no improvement is noted or she worsens, then have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck with your girl!

A small amount of clear or whitish discharge is normal and fine. If you see green or yellow discharge, or if the eye itself is red or squinting, your pup needs to be examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
