My puppy ate a small piece of tinfoil. Is she going to be okay?

That's not a very big piece of tin foil, and hopefully it should pass without problem, but there is always the chance it could get stuck. I would monitor her over the next 72 hours for signs of obstruction, which include vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, lethargy, and constipation. Should you see any of those signs, I would take her into the vet right away.

Hello. If she is not having any difficulties passing her stool, she should be fine. I might go ahead & feed her 1-2 teaspoons of canned pumpkin ( not pie filling ) with each meal over the next 2-3 days just to be sure all the foil has been pushed through. Yes if it was chewed well then hopefully it will pass out. I recommend feeding more food to help it pass quickly with the food. If he stops eating, becomes painful or is straining to poop without anything being passed then you should take him in for treatment, I expect he will recover without treatment. Hello, sorry to hear about Diasy. Its likely that the Acetone may cause her some esophageal and stomach irritation and inflammation. However the aluminum foil would be unlikely to be digested and may cause an obstruction in her GI tract. If she has just recently ingested this, then it may be best to induce vomiting in an attempt to remove the foil. If unsuccessful, then your options may include waiting to see if she passes it knowing that if she doesn't then she may need surgery to remove it, doing an endoscopy to remove the foil, or going to surgery to remove the foil. You should have Daisy seen by a veterinarian to day to atleast obtain an x-ray and confirm the amount and presence of aluminum foil. Hope this helps and best of luck.

If he only ate the one wrapper, I wouldn't worry too much. The foil isn't stiff enough or large enough to block or cause damage as it moves through. If it has been less than an hour since your pet ate it, you can induce vomiting by giving an oral dose of hydrogen peroxide, about 1 cc per pound. One tablespoon is about 5 cc. A turkey baster will work if you don't have a syringe. Longer than an hour and it will have already moved into the intestines. Keep an eye on him for a few days to make sue he's okay and watch his feces for evidence that it has come out.

Don't worry, this is unlikely to cause any issues. Most small pieces of plastic and cloth and other material pass just fine in the stool, if the puppy doesn't vomit it up first. If Snowball is vomiting over and over again tonight or tomorrow, or doesn't seem herself, then she should see a vet. Otherwise, she'll likely be just fine! Hope that helps!

Hi, if the wrapper has been thorn into pieces it will probably pass through his gastro intestinal tract together with other food. If it was a large piece swollowed as whole, there is the risk of obstruction and you need to monitor him closely for any vomiting or diarrhoea or straining to go to the toilet or abdominal pain.
