My puppy ate a Band-Aid paper tab. Should I be worried? Will it pass?

What a cute name snowball! Yes, it is possible that the arm has passed through the stool and you just missed it. I would not be concerned as long as snowball is eating, drinking and defecating normal. If at anytime snowball is acting ill, vomiting or not eating I would recommend taking snowball to the vet for an x-ray of her abdomen. I hope that helps

I'd agree that this is definitely a concern. Many dogs eat bandages. Typically the material passes through normally but do monitor him closely for any GI distress - vomiting, reluctance to eat, diarrhea - that might indicate it's having trouble passing.

It depends! Some dogs will do fine, others won't. If there is a vet close, I would recommend inducing vomiting in a vet clinic because if it comes up, then there is nothing to worry about! If not, then watch closely over then next 1-2 weeks for signs of obstruction, including decreased appetite, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, etc.

Since those pieces are small, it is safe to monitor for any GI signs such as vomiting and diarrhea, lethargy or a decreased appetite. There is a good change that can pass through and you will never notice a problem over the next 24-48 hours!

Hi, if the wrapper has been thorn into pieces it will probably pass through his gastro intestinal tract together with other food. If it was a large piece swollowed as whole, there is the risk of obstruction and you need to monitor him closely for any vomiting or diarrhoea or straining to go to the toilet or abdominal pain. You can give your vet a call, and bring Justice in for the vet to induce vomiting if she ate the bandaid within the past 2 hours. If it has been over 2 hours, all you can do is wait and see what happens. You will need to keep an eye on your dog’s stools to see if the object passes through your dogs system as well as for signs of fresh blood or mucus. Fresh blood or mucus indicates inflammation within the large intestine while dark black or tarry looking stools indicate bleeding in the upper digestive tract. If your dog’s stools become black then your dog should see a vet immediately. If your dog begins to vomit, has a lot of diarrhea, becomes unresponsive to you or squats without having a bowel movement then you should take her to the vet immediately as well. As long as your dog is acting normally just monitor your dog closely to be sure the object passes through your dog's system. It probably will pass through his system with no problem though.
