My puppy ate a grape hours ago and seems fine. What should I do?

I'm so glad you took Peanut to the emergency clinic right away and that they were able to make him vomit up the grape. The concern for the next few hours is that since they gave him medication to vomit the grape, some dogs will continue to be nauseated (despite anti-nausea medication) and will vomit again if fed or allowed too much water. So, that is the concern for the next few hours. If there is a possibility that Peanut ate any additional grapes, I would recommend having blood checked in 3 days to make sure his kidney values are normal. Otherwise, as long as Peanut returns to his normal appetite and energy level without any vomiting, there aren't any special instructions for grape ingestion that was immediately vomited. If it was only one grape and you managed to take it whole out, you don't need to take him to the vet, he will be fine. if you suspect he might have eaten even one entire grape then you need to take him to the emergency vet to get an injection to induce vomiting.

Hi, I dont’ think the vomiting and diarrhoea is related to the grape ingestion. It could be that she has also eaten something else ! I would recommend to have her checked over 48 hours post ingestion to check her blood, to make sure that everything is fine. Hope this helps !

Unfortunately, it's hard to say how raisins or grapes will affect a dog as tolerance can be different. I would continue to monitor Sasha just in case, and if you notice any issues such as vomiting, diarrhea, changes in appetite, lethargy, excessive (or no) urination, abdominal pain, confusion, etc, take her in for care ASAP.

There are no home remedies to prevent any adverse effects from rapes, but poisoning events and kidney failure are quite rare. Not all grapes/raisins appear to be toxic so I recommend monitoring for any change in thirst and urination

Symptoms of grape toxicity usually begin within 24-48 hours of ingestion, so Arlee is likely to be ok if she's had no other symptoms 5 days after eating them. The exact dose of grapes to cause toxicity is unknown, so it is very important that you don't allow Arlee to eat anymore grapes (or raisins). If she's got a rash, then I would take her into your regular vet to be evaluated for that, as there are a few different things that can cause a rash, and she may need medication to help clear it up.

The next step would be administering activated charcoal (this can be bought over-the-counter at pharmacies).
