Why are my 3-week old puppies crying, sneezing, and trying to escape?

Puppies cry when they want something like to eat or attention, or possibly to go outside. They are a little young to know how to be properly potty trained. I would make sure the mom is nursing then properly and everyone is properly gaining weight. I would make sure there isn't another reason they could be crying. With them being so young, I would be careful letting them spend too much time in the environment because they are at high risk for different illnesses since their immune system is weak and they haven't had their shots. It could be a mild viral infection, as long as they are feeding and acting normally I wouldn't recommend trying to treat it, their immune system is still very fragile but the mother's milk should protect them from common infections at this age.

Intestinal worms are common in puppies, and that could be the cause of her diarrhea. She could have a respiratory infection or irritation of the nasal passages causing the reverse sneezing. Since she has not gotten better, it's time to see a vet. I'd take her into one in the morning. Best of luck.

Hi there and thanks for posting! Sounds like the puppy may have a upper respiratory infection or a virus or bacterial. Not consuming enough of mom's milk can cause the puppy not to receive enough antibodies towards certain infections. However, this can vary depending on the mother's own natural immunity. 320 grams or 0.7lbs for a 1 week old puppy sounds about right. I hope the antibiotics helps with the respiratory infection. Coso is probably recovering from an upper respiratory infection or cold, or kennel cough. This may take another week or two to fully resolve. As long as he's eating and acting normal it's nothing to be overly concerned about. Should he stop eating, be lethargic or the sneezing doesn't clear up in a week or so then a veterinary exam is in order. Puppies often get sick when together especially in a shelter or rescue situation and heal quickly once in a home with better care and nutrition. Wheezing makes me worried that mom and puppy may both have a respiratory infection. And a cloudy eye is also indicative of a problem, I would recommend a vet visit for mom and pup to get assessed. There are some structural abnormalities in brachiocephalic breeds that can cause upper respiratory stridor, or excessive noise while breathing, however that's typically not noted in a four week old puppy either.
