How much Petco puppy food should my 35lb, 5-month Boxer eat?

Hi, it's hard for me to determine how much food to feed Pearl. Each brand of dog food has different nutritional and calories per cup, so the amount she needs might vary according to which brand you have. Make sure Pearl is fed a high quality food for puppies and look on the bag for feeding guidelines. It usually days X cups per day with a table of different body weights.

I recommend a high quality diet that is hypoallergenic which may help him such as Science Diet z/d or Royal canin ultamino. Both of these are of great quality and also are well-tolerated. If he is 56 pounds like the profile says, he should eat about 1,000 calories per day. That caloric information of the food should be in the back of the bag of the diet you choose. I recommend the majority of his diet consists of the Royal Canin as that has the proper balance of vitamins and minerals for a growing dog and the human diet does not. The Royal Canin should have a place on the label for recommended feeding amounts for his age and weight. Kisses to Caster!

Hello, congratulations on your new puppy. Ideally, any commercial puppy food should be sufficient to maintain Jax's growth. Pet foods with better reputation include brands such as Royal Canin, Hills, and Eukanuba but this does not necessarily have to be the case for your puppy. If Jax is eating, drinking, and gaining weight adequately, then you should continue to feed pedigree puppy food until he is about a year old, then transition him to adult food. I personally prefer the Purina Pro Plan shredded blends for puppies as they are generally inexpensive, are of great quality and dogs seems to love it. For the amount to feed her, I advice you follow the guidelines that you will find in the back of the bag. Keep in mind that you should get the puppy blend. Also, keep in mind that as she grows, you will notice in the back of the bag that it will advice you feed her more. When she becomes a year old, she should be switched to an adult diet. Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Browny can eat any dog food diet that is formulated for puppies/growth, and ideally for large-breed dogs. Highly recommended brands include Royal Canin, Purina, and Hills, but other well known companies such as Pedigree are also appropriate. As long as the diet is not vegan, vegetarian or grain free, any puppy dog food diet should be OK. The dog food bag should have a feeding chart on it that outlines how much food Browny should be fed with each meal, based on her weight. I hope this is helpful!
