What should I feed my 3-month-old, 11kg female puppy for best health?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There are many great diets out there that you may find at your local pet store. I personally prefer the Purina Pro Plan shredded blends for puppies as they are generally inexpensive, are of great quality and dogs seems to love it. For the amount to feed her, I advice you follow the guidelines that you will find in the back of the bag. Keep in mind that you should get the puppy blend. Also, keep in mind that as she grows, you will notice in the back of the bag that it will advice you feed her more. When she becomes a year old, she should be switched to an adult diet. A ten month old dog should be eating a diet formulated for growth, aka a puppy diet, until they are at least 12 months old. The top dog food brands that we recommend are Hills, Purina, and Royal Canin. But, any dog food that is NOT grain free, or vegetarian or vegan, should be healthy for your dog. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Milk can sometimes cause gastrointestinal upset so I would avoid giving her milk consistently. I prefer Royal Canin and Science diet. Any of their varieties should be good options for Browny. Best of luck!

You need to get her wet food for large breed puppy, it may be one of the premium brands (Hill's, Royal, Eucanuba), but you can find something cheaper. If you use any of these food, you should not given any additional food supplements. Alternatively, you can cook food for the puppy. Mixture of cooked lean meat with rice, pasta and vegetables will be a good choice. In that case, you should add food supplements (from a pet shop or your vets) containing calcium and phosphorus. You can crate her if you have big enough cage.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Alex is adorable! Congratulations! I would choose a high quality commercial puppy food. I like Hill's science diet, Royal Canin and Purina. Since Alex is a small breed I would choose a dry and a canned to mix until he is about 4 months then change to all dry. I would also feed him small frequent meals, maybe about 3-4 times per day until he is 14-16 weeks. Toy breed puppies can suffer from low blood sugar. Labs have a tendency to grow too fast, and as they get older to get fat. Therefore I like to use Nutro large breed puppy dry, then switch to adult large breed, and weight management later in life if needed. I like Nutro because it’s a complete diet and lower in calorie than most of the other dog foods. Dogs like it and there are several different Nutro varieties for you to choose from. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Ideal weight is based on more than age and breed. Skeletal frame is also important. Posting a picture of Luna would be helpful. On AVERAGE a 3 month female golden puppy should weigh around is between 16 and 22 lbs. It is hard to make puppies fat. I recommend using the bag label for feeding instructions. If she is too thin (see hip bones and can see and easily feel every rib) increase the amount of food and if she is too fat (can't easily feel ribs and no waist) then decrease it some.
