Is 47 lbs normal for my 5-month-old Great Pyrenees puppy's weight?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Great Pyrenees | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 1 day old | 47 lbs

I think my great Pyrenees puppy is underweight for his age. He is 5 months old and 47lbs. Is that normal for the breed?

Mack seems right on track for his weight and breed. If you are concerned about his body condition score I would be happy to look at a picture and help you decide if it is too low. You can also try adding healthy lean proteins to his puppy food to help with growth. This would include boiled chicken breast and extra lean ground beef.
