Are flat brown patches on my dog's testicles cause for concern?

Hi, yes this is a normal skin change for this area. If you feel the skin, it is also thickened, it is absolutely normal and could be due to the testicles lying on the ground/hard surface on repetitive occasions.

Everything in the picture appears normal. the dark spot appears to be normal pigment in the skin of he scrotum. The skin can get more or less pigmented as they age, so this may be why you are just now noticing this. As long as the dark areas are not raised, crusty, or causing any other problems with the skin, then they are not concerning. Considering he is otherwise normal, I would not be concerned about this. I am sorry to hear about your issues with Bruno, it can be very frustrating dealing with skin problems. I cannot really see anything unusual in the photo provided. Sometimes skin pigmentation can change in dogs, so if the pigment has changed but it isn't irritated/red/itchy/oozy then I would just monitor. If it is irritated/itching despite current treatments he may need additional testing such as culture of the skin or allergy testing to determine why this is a problem.

This really looks like it is most likely a harmless pigmented area. At this age pets get different colored spots on their skin because he is going through his maturation process. If it isn’t raised, swollen or has hair loss, then it is likely nothing to worry about and is just pigmentation. I would still mention it to your vet so they can look at it to verify. Pictures can be deceiving but the areas do not appear raised or thickened from inflammation, if they are indeed as flat and smooth as the surrounding skin i would not be concerned but would monitor for any further increase in size or number, regular photos can help to monitor. sk your vet to check sat your next wellness or vaccine appointment but depigmented spots are quite common and innocent

However, continue to monitor them closely because sometimes skin cancer such as melanoma can start like that. If these ever become raised or seem to bother him or appear to be spreading, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. It is really hard to tell by pictures if skin is normal. I think based on the photo that Ludo does have normal testicles. The testicles can have some pigment on them. However at anytime Ludo is not acting normal, itching, abnormal urination or not eating I would recommend taking him to a vet to have them checked in person. hope that helps
