Is the skin and texture of my unneutered dog's testicles normal?

Hi, yes this is a normal skin change for this area. If you feel the skin, it is also thickened, it is absolutely normal and could be due to the testicles lying on the ground/hard surface on repetitive occasions.

It certainly looks like your dog has completely normal and healthy testicles, as far as I can possibly say without palpating them. It is quite normal that one testicle is a little bit bigger than the other. The skin looks normally pale pink, ie not red and inflamed, and the scrotum appears to have normal hair. So, I do not think you have to worry about Bear's testicles being abnormal or diseased.

Yes, they appear fairly normal, but I would have to examine them closer and palpate them in order to ensure that everything is normal. If there is a concern, then it's best to have him examined by a vet. I hope that helps and all is well with Bear.

The picture does not show anything concerning but I would continue to monitor for any sweliing or discomfort which may indicate a painful infection or assymetry which can indicate a tumour. Rapid increase in size can occur with scrotal hernias which although rare are a surgical emergency.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The saggy nature of Leo's scrotum and testicles is just cosmetic and there is not medical worry. It is likely hereditary in nature. If you plan to neuter him the Vet can also fix the scrotum (scrotal ablation). Other wise there is nothing to do about it now. He does seem quite well endowed. If the testicles suddenly seem more enlarged then I would have him seen as he could have an infection, suffered trauma or if painful a torsion. I wish you the best

Everything in the picture appears normal. the dark spot appears to be normal pigment in the skin of he scrotum. The skin can get more or less pigmented as they age, so this may be why you are just now noticing this. As long as the dark areas are not raised, crusty, or causing any other problems with the skin, then they are not concerning. Considering he is otherwise normal, I would not be concerned about this. I'm wondering if your dog was neutered recently - it almost looks like there could be a scrotal incision and discharge in the center of the photo. Either way, the raised area looks like it could be a growth, tumor or abscess/infection and if he was not neutered recently the discharge is concerning. I would definitely recommend having your vet take a look.
