My dog got superglue in her ear. Is it toxic? Should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | spayed | 1 year and 11 months old | 20 lbs

I accidentally used superglue instead of ear drops. Squeezed once before realising the mistake(middle of night and glue was put in fridge next to drops without me knowing). Seems to have mostly bonded the hair on the outer most part of ear. She is still happy and went back to sleep. I have a photo of necessary and she’s happy to let us touch the ear. Do I need to get her to the vet ASAP or leave the glue to unbound naturally?

Superglue is made up of the same components as tissue glue, so it is not toxic. That said, if your dog has an ear infection and the super glue has glued the ear canal shut, you will need to take Kima to a vet to have it removed. Buy some Super glue remover to take with you, just in case, but do NOT instill it into her ear. This is something the vet needs to do while properly cleaning the ear and making sure there is no damage done during the process. If the ear canal is open, then it is likely that eventually the superglue will come off by itself.

My dog's eye has strong glue, blocking vision. What should I do?

I would recommend taking your dog to the vet as soon as possible. He will likely need to be sedated and have the glue surgically extracted/removed. Depending on the seriousness and damage the glue has done to the eye, the globe may also need to be removed. I’m sorry this is happened. I hope this helps. Best of luck.

Hello, not necessarily. It looks like it is apposed sufficiently enough, however, sure glue is not something used for wound closure and may interfere with the healing of the laceration. I would monitor the area for any redness, discharge, swelling, pain, or purple/black discoloration in the surrounding skin and bring him to your veterinarian if you note any of the above. My dog has a paw cut. Can I use superglue to close the wound?

I would not recommend using superglue on a laceration. Although tissue glue is similar and sometimes used to close small wounds it would not be ideal for a high pressure/high motion area like the paw. If it is not bleeding and seems superficial it might heal without specific treatment: watch for redness, swelling or discharge as symptoms of infection. If it is bleeding or seems to be deep you should have your vet take a look.

My cat has fly trap glue on her fur. Is it toxic and how to remove?

You can try olive oil or vegetable oil and rub it gently into the mat of glue on your cat's fur. Continue to rub the oil into the glue until it loosens the glue from the fur. You could also bathe her with Dawn dish soap and see if that helps. Another option is to buy a pair of clippers and shave the areas that have glue. I believe that most of the sticky fly trap papers are not toxic but you should check the packaging to confirm. It might cause some gastric upset if she licks a lot of it.
