My puppy licked a mouse trap glue. Is it toxic? Should I see a vet?

Oh Trixie is a cutie! So the main concern with most artificial nail glues really is just if they get enough in their eyes or on their lips to glue them closed. Since it doesn't sound like this occurred trixie will likely be ok. But there are many different types of nail adhesive so you can always call aspca poison control to read them the exact ingredients in the type trixie chewed on. You can try olive oil or vegetable oil and rub it gently into the mat of glue on your cat's fur. Continue to rub the oil into the glue until it loosens the glue from the fur. You could also bathe her with Dawn dish soap and see if that helps. Another option is to buy a pair of clippers and shave the areas that have glue. I believe that most of the sticky fly trap papers are not toxic but you should check the packaging to confirm. It might cause some gastric upset if she licks a lot of it.

Vegetable or mineral should have removed a majority of the residue. You can use a fine toothed comb to "brush" out the rest of it. Once you're done, cleanse the area with a few drops of Dawn dish soap and warm water.
