Why is my puppy shaking after his Revolution flea treatment?

Hi there. Beau may indeed be having a reaction to the shampoo. I would definitely use another dog shampoo and wash that Hartz product off. If you have access to an open animal hospital at this time I would definitely bring him in to be seen. He is very tiny, and it may be that the flea shampoo ingredients were a bit much for him. The tremoring could also be because is chilly, but I just wouldn't take the chance. I definitely don't want to alarm you, but I would just take him in to see a vet.

Colby should be fine, especially since you washed it off quickly. I would probably wait two weeks to apply his Revolution. Watch him for any side effects like neurological issues, vomiting or seizures just in case. I hope this helps.

I would not give him another dose so quickly, since most of it is on him, just not in the location you were aiming for. You can however, safely repeat the Revolution in 2 weeks time, to ensure he is fully covered and protected. If you do happen to notice any fleas in the meantime, you can safely give him a Capstar tablet for emergency flea relief, which can be found at your local pet store. Those two products are usually fine to use together. However in some very sensitive dogs that could cause muscle tremors and shaking. I would wait at least 2-3 days after applying the Revolution before placing a collar on Cadbury. If he has any tremors/shaking remove the collar and alert your veterinarian. If revolution is not working for your flea/tick control you could consider adding on nexguard which is an oral flea and tick medication or even a Seresto collar.

I can understand your concern here. It is likely going to still be effective b/c it will soak down to his actual skin. Plus there is a range for this product so even if most gets on the haircoat, it is usually going to still be effective. Worst case scenario is that it will lose some of its effectiveness around week 2-3 at which point you can safely apply an additional dosage. Hi ! Can you still spot presence of fleas ? You should look for flea dirt more than adult fleas, tiny black dots that dissolve when put in contact with water on a white tissue . You can use a flea comb for this purpose and then wipe it on the wet tissue to see if there is any evidence of flea dirt. If you have established that there still are fleas, then it could be that when you applied the product it did not actually reach the skin surface. I would recommend to speak to your veterinarian with regards to an additional product to kill flea eggs and arrange an appointment perhaps with a technician to show you how to best administer this treatment, good luck and I hope everything goes well !

I recommend to see your veterinarian for medication called Revolution. While any pecan have a reaction to anything, Revolution seems to be very safe for very small and very young pets. You will need to treat her for 6 months. I hope this helps.
