Why is my kitten still scratching after Revolution flea treatment?

some flea treatment just don't work on every cat/flea! I advice waiting at least 10 days and the use a completely different product. Spot ons are usually the best option (revolution/advantage/advocate) make sure it's an appropriate one for kittens and a different main ingredient in it to avoid toxicity. Going to the vet for this will be the best idea. Treatment should be given every month, especially after he start going out if he does. A spray for the house to kill the fleas is very important as well as fleas can survive in carpets for ages.

If you have a flea infestation in your house or yard it will be harder for the Revolution to be fully effective. Make sure you vacuum regularly, and treat the other pets in the household as well as the yard if that is practical. I use a flea comb dipped in soapy water to catch the fleas on Dexter. You’ll find that the fleas are slower than normal because they are dying. If you are consistent with your flea control in the house, other pets, and yard and use Revolution monthly as directed the fleas should all be gone in several weeks. Revolution does not repel fleas. The fleas still have to get on Sage in order for the medicine to work. The fleas could have been new and not had time to fully die from the revolution yet. 80% of a flea problem is environmental. It is best to drop him off at the vet for the day while you treat your house and yard to full get rid of the problem.

I would not be worried if the flea is dead. It means the product is working. Unfortunately the flea does have to come into contact with the product in order to then die, so you may see a few fleas but they should be dead. Also I would try to cut back on the frequency of the baths because this can strip some of the product from the skin, making it less effective. A bath once every 2-4 weeks is ideal. Mia likely is scratching because she has dry skin due to overbathing or she is reacting to the flea you recently found on her. Try to use a conditioner to help rehydrate her skin and then ask your vet about any antihistamines that can be prescribed to help with her itching if it’s still present. I did read Forrest Gump's bio, it was very cute and I love how you wrote it from his perspective. Cats can develop a flea allergy, and that could be why he is still nibbling and scratching despite being treated for fleas. He may need additional medication for it, such as steroids or antihistamines, so I would have him seen by a vet tomorrow. As for the crying, it sounds like to me he wants attention. Cats will vocalize to get attention, and if he's doing it when you are walking by him or when he's walking around, he's looking for someone to give him love and attention. As long as he's eating and drinking normally, walking normally, and using the litter box normally, I would not worry about it. Some cats are simply very vocal :-) I certainly hope you get to keep him, he sounds very loved already!

Oh poor girl. It looks like she has a hypersensitivity to the Revolution. This isn't very common, but it can happen on occasion in some pets. I would recommend washing as much of the product off as possible with a Betadine solution diluted 50:50 with warm water. Then you can apply a "hot spot" spray ok to use in cats, from your local pet store to the area until it is healed. If it is having a hard time healing properly, then it is best to have your vet look at it and prescribe stronger medication for Georgia. I hope this clears up soon and for next go round, I would recommend trying another product such as Advantage Multi for cats.

Until you wash her the flea-dirt will remain, as it is the poop from the fleas and won't go away without her grooming it off, or you washing it off. Giving her a bath with warm water and a tiny bit of soap (avoid any flea shampoos as you have already used good products) is a good idea. However I would wait for about a week to perform this bath as you don't want to wash the Revolution off. After you bath her, you can use the flea dirt to monitor if more adult fleas are present. If you don't bath her, which is an option, eventually she will groom it away, and this is ok. Best of luck with Cleo!
