Why are my dog's eyes red only on the bottom? Is it serious?

It's hard to tell if what you are seeing is normal or not. Some people mistake the appearance of the 3rd eyelid as a problem, when really it is normal. Suede also may have conjunctivitis, or inflammation/infection of the tissue surrounding his eyes. He could have allergies that cause the redness and prominence of his 3rd eyelid, the pink tissue present in the 2nd picture. Without doing an exam and looking at those tissues and in and around his eye, it is impossible to tell. If he starts squinting, that is a sign of pain, so I would definitely take him in asap. I would recommend you take him in to your vet for an exam to see if he needs any topical treatment for his eyes or if what you are seeing is his normal anatomy.

This just looks like an area of inflammation in the conjunctiva. It may have developed from something irritating in the eye. At this point it’s nothing to be overly concerned about. Please check it daily, it should improve and go away in a few days. If it starts to look worse then certainly a veterinary exam is indicated. It would be best to have Bailey evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It is very difficult to tell much from the photos. It doesn't look like a bump, it looks more like red skin like she scraped it or something. The eyeball itself looks fine and the eye does not appear red or irritated which is good. I suggest you just monitor this throughout the weekend and if no improvement by early next week then get her to your vet for an exam. I don't think I'd be too worried at this stage. Hope this helps. She could have an eyelash irritating her cornea or be experiencing a mild seasonal allergy. If she develops squinting, eye discharge or begins to paw at the eye, she will need to be seen right away. Although a picture would help to determine underlying cause of it more specifically, that is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to an allergy or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well.
