My husky's eye is red and squinting. Eye wash isn't working, help!

He can have an eye infection, but he may also have gotten dust in his eyes. If he recently was around other dogs I recommend bringing him to a veterinarian since it can be pink eye. Otherwise, I recommend rinsing his eyes with saline and if the redness doesn't resolve or gets worse bring him to a veterinarian. He may need eye drops. It could be that Sky has a subconjunctival hemorrhage. While those do heal on their own, the eye has to be examined by a vet right away to make sure there isn't any damage to the rest of the eye. Because subconjunctivial hemorrhages can be caused by trauma, which you think may have happened here with thorns or something similar, her eye needs to be checked for any other signs of trauma. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it is considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Sky into a vet now to have her eye examined and treated if necessary.

If Niko is squinting the eye or if there is excessive discharge from the eye he needs to see a vet right away. If he is not squinting, then you can use this ophthalmic gel if you'd like. If it doesn't seem better in a few days then you can get him to the vet for an exam. ( )

The best course of action would be to have your vet or a certified ophthalmologist take a look at Rascal's eye ASAP if the change has been sudden. They can determine the cause of the redness and recommend additional treatment as needed.

Eyes are very delicate organs. If there is an injury it is always best to have your vet check it. Eye injuries can go from bad to worse quickly and then you risk losing vision and/or the eye itself. I have not seen the eye so it's hard to give advice. It is up to you though what you want to do. If you want to try something at home you can try this eye gel. If no improvement after a couple days of treatment then he needs to see the vet. I would use it 3-4 times per day. It could be that Pakkun vomited to hard it burst a blood vessel in his eye. I would keep an eye on him for now and these red spots in his eyes. If they get worse, do not go away, or he starts vomiting again, have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.
