My Husky's eye is bloody from a thorn. Does she need a vet now?

All I can see is that the eye is red and he is squinting it a little. It could be due to an injury to the cornea or some type of trauma. I highly recommend you have him to your vet for an exam. The eye needs to be checked with an ophthalmoscope and have a stain test - obviously we can only tell so much from a photo. I don't think it is an emergency but try to get him examined as soon as you can get an appointment. In the meantime you can use this eye gel to see if it will help: ( )

I would recommend taking Princess in for a veterinary exam. Eyes tend to heal quickly or get bad quickly. The one picture looks similar to a scleral hematoma, but the other picture looks like something is going on in the cornea. The cornea can be an emergency situation if there is an ulcer present. The veterinarian will do some diagnostics like an eye stain and prescribe appropriate medications for her. Eye injuries are painful, so she might need pain meds. I'm working under the assumption that autocorrect changed hyphema (blood in the anterior chamber of the eye) to hyphens. If Penny does hyphema, this can be a result of a number serious underlying conditions, including severely elevated blood pressure, blood clotting disorders, trauma, among others. It could be that Pakkun vomited to hard it burst a blood vessel in his eye. I would keep an eye on him for now and these red spots in his eyes. If they get worse, do not go away, or he starts vomiting again, have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.

I would take Snickers into a vet immediately. Any problems around the eye is considered an emergency because it's such as delicate and important structure. In addition, he needs his eye checked to make sure that the globe itself wasn't harmed. The fact that he won't let you touch it tells me it's hurting him. Please take him into a vet now.

Hello there! While probably not an emergency (unless Dodi appears to have discharge or discomfort), I do recommend that she is seen by a vet. Broken blood vessels in the sclera (white part) of the eye are not entirely uncommon in pop-eyed dogs like the Havanese (usually from stress or irritation), however it usually happens in one eye at a time. Dodi is a young dog, and I would not expect any serious conditions, however it is always best to contact a vet when it comes to strange eye issues as if there is a problem, they can get worse quickly. The vet will want to check for conjunctivitis and foreign objects, though I would expect that Dodi would be acting uncomfortable if either of these were the case. In the meantime, keep a close eye (no pun intended) on Dodi, and give your vet a call in the morning. I hope Dodi's eyes clear up soon! Best regards,

Poor Blacky. If at all possible, Blacky needs to go to an emergency clinic right now. This could be as minor as a skin scrap, or as severe as a ruptured eyeball. If you are unable to get to an emergency clinic, use a warm wash cloth to clean off his face and get to a vet as soon as possible if he's squinting or his eye looks odd in any way.
