My husky's eye is red and dilated. Is it PRA or something else?

He can have an eye infection, but he may also have gotten dust in his eyes. If he recently was around other dogs I recommend bringing him to a veterinarian since it can be pink eye. Otherwise, I recommend rinsing his eyes with saline and if the redness doesn't resolve or gets worse bring him to a veterinarian. He may need eye drops. All I can see is that the eye is red and he is squinting it a little. It could be due to an injury to the cornea or some type of trauma. I highly recommend you have him to your vet for an exam. The eye needs to be checked with an ophthalmoscope and have a stain test - obviously we can only tell so much from a photo. I don't think it is an emergency but try to get him examined as soon as you can get an appointment. In the meantime you can use this eye gel to see if it will help: ( )

It could be that Pakkun vomited to hard it burst a blood vessel in his eye. I would keep an eye on him for now and these red spots in his eyes. If they get worse, do not go away, or he starts vomiting again, have him seen by a vet. Best of luck.

Yes, that is definitely something you should be worried about. What you are seeing is called anisocoria, and when it suddenly appears, it is a medical emergency. This can be due to corneal injury, disease or injury to the brain, disease or injury to the nerves running to the eye, or uveitis among other causes. I would take Ace into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him ASAP to diagnose what is causing the anisocoria so it can be treated.

If she is otherwise doing well, and the size of the pupils normalize in the next 24-48 hours, then she is likely to be just fine. Sienna’s eye looks very abnormal in your picture and it’s odd that it returned to normal in it’s own. In the picture it looks like she could have anterior uveitis or inflammation in the eye. This could happen secondary to infections, trauma, or cataracts which can be hereditary in Huskies. I doubt the tooth is related. Even though her eye seems normal. Ow it might still be a good idea to have her examined by your vet. They can look closely with good lighting for subtle changes and examine the lens and back of the eye (retina).

It could be that Sky has a subconjunctival hemorrhage. While those do heal on their own, the eye has to be examined by a vet right away to make sure there isn't any damage to the rest of the eye. Because subconjunctivial hemorrhages can be caused by trauma, which you think may have happened here with thorns or something similar, her eye needs to be checked for any other signs of trauma. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it is considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Sky into a vet now to have her eye examined and treated if necessary.
