Can my 6-week Golden Retriever puppy sleep in an AC room safely?

Puppies are prone to getting cold, so I would only do this if it seems that it's too hot in their environment. You can start with a low amount of AC if needed and turn it up if they tolerate it well. You will know the puppies are too cold if they forming a tight huddle next to or under mom. If they are more spread out, then this would indicate that they are very warm. As long as the doghouse is heavily insulated and she has thick bedding inside, and the door isn't open to where the wind blows in, it should be fine. I would try to keep them indoors where there is air conditioning and fans. If they have to be outdoors then they should be in the shade and not ever in the direct sun. The puppies should not get too hot as that is life threatening, so see what you can do to the environment to change the ambient temperature. I wouldn't recommend the ambient temperature higher than 80 F. I wish you the very best!

If you are talking about 40 degrees F°, that is definitively too cold for them as puppies cannot regulate their normal temperature for the first few weeks of life. Unfortunately (for the house) they should stay inside. Great question! I would keep your puppy indoors in cold nights. Young puppies are not able to regulate their body temperature, and it would be best to keep it indoors where it is warmer. You can keep the puppy in a crate indoors to keep it from getting into things and having accidents in the home.

It depends on the dog. Your Aura may find it cool enough to be in a room with fan. However, if he keeps panting, drooling and looking unsettled he may need a room with AC to avoid overheating. If you can provide him with AC in the hottest days, please do so. I am sure he will feel better at 18-20C.

Hi, and thanks for posting this question. Ambient temperature for pups that age should be around 80 degrees, so as long as mom is with them her body heat probably keeps it around that temp.
