Is it normal for my dog to poop right after peeing on a tree?

Sometimes the pressure of defecating can stimulated the bladder, and if he is relaxing himself to poo he could concurrently be relaxing his bladder schinter muscle. It is certainly a nuisance but can happen. In a young dog I wouldn't worry too much about this but it would be a good idea to have him examined to ensure that nothing is causing unnecessary pressure in his back passage, such as a large prostate or full anal glands.

That's a good question. Abnormal postures when pooping can indicate an injury, or deformity in the pelvic canal. It can also indicate a problem with a knee, leg, or hip. If he is otherwise normal, then this is not likely something to be concerned about, but can be mentioned to your vet the next time he goes in for an exam; or good to discuss with your vet if he happens to have any other issues with the legs or hips. Some dogs just keep moving when they eliminate feces. The only reason I can see for that is that they are sort of disgusted with their own feces and therefore "run away from it" in order to not step in it. It also can just be a habit. Moving also helps loosen the stool so it can come out easier. It is nothing to worry about.

It is definitely a mystery. Dog behavior is not totally understood, but it does seem that some dogs are more fastidiously cleaner than others. As long as everything else is normal, a little quirk here & there is what makes life so interesting! take care.

This could be normal behavior - particularly the turning in circles and walking while defecating. Some dogs will do this when defecating for no particular reason. The whining is a bit more concerning and could be a sign of pain so it might be a good idea to have Trusty examined by your vet to make sure his anal glands and rectum seem normal.

Sometimes even though they have peed or pooped inside the house, they will do the same outside because they know that's what they are suppose to do outside. It is just in their nature. Also walking will help the GI tract start moving and increase urgency to poop. Plus being an intact male, Bruno likely has the urgency to mark his territory with his urine so he usually always has a small amount left in his bladder to do this. I hope this helps!
